Umlazi Temple of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, is a growing church in number, spiritually and mentally. Christian Education plays a vital role in any Christian life and it is the foundation of every church. Good Christian Education recognises the unique, God given gifts and talents of the students and challenges them to achieve their amazing potential.

Hosea 4:6:
“My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. Because knowledge is rejected, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children”. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.I pray that God grants Umlazi Temple with true wisdom, knowledge and understanding so that we do not perish. And may love, unity and peace remain in us always.

Christian education is the process and content of teaching about the life of Jesus Christ and applying it to our lives so that our live may be enriched.

It is to teach God’s people how to serve God.
To Educate, Elevate and Expand
It is to educate, elevate and expand the understanding and use of the arts in worship. Through workshops, teaching, training and example it is our goal to equip the saints to do the work of the ministry through music and the arts.
Developing Standards, Preparing Programs
Developing standards, preparing programs, offering classes, teaching Christian education, training people for pastoral ministry and other church vocations" in accordance with the tradition and doctrine of the African Methodist Episcopal Church.
Church Educators are Involved in Missions’ Education
Church educators are involved in missions’ education, discipleship training, Bible teaching, and other instructional programs join together to share ideas, insights, and information, develop appropriate resources, and learn new strategies. In doing this, the vision of our Founders is embraced by reclaiming the importance of the teaching ministry and by encouraging congregations to become centers of learning.
